CANYONING IN RIO VERDE - BASIC
At this easy level, there is no abseiling because we don't use any ropes. We follow a varied route, where we come across deep pools and ponds and parts with waterfalls. We use a number of different techniques to make our way through the different obstacles: hiking, swimming, jumping (from a height of almost 13 metres if you feel up to it!). And for those of you who would prefer to avoid some of the more difficult natural obstacles, there are alternative routes.
(Please bear in mind that you will require your own vehicle to reach the meeting point).
It's important to wear comfortable clothing and sporty footwear that without doubt will get wet. You'll also need a dry change of clothes to change into afterwards.

CANYONING IN RIO VERDE - MEDIUM
When canyoning in the Rio Verde, you will experience all the thrill of a true aquatic canyoning experience. You will marvel at the extreme jumps from different heights, as well as the spectacular slides you go through when descending the canyon, no to forget the unique feeling of abseiling through waterfalls in a setting that radiates a spectacular natural beauty.
(Please bear in mind that you will require your own vehicle to reach the meeting point).
It's important to wear comfortable clothing and sporty footwear that without doubt will get wet. You'll also need a dry change of clothes to change into afterwards.

CANYONING IN RIO VERDE - ADVANCED
The route 'integral descent' is the longest in the river, Rio Verde. It's a section that has no particular danger. Our descent into the river starts from its actual source, Fuente de la Cabrerizas and finishes at the zone known as Junta de los Ríos in Otivar. We pass through challenges that include 'the jump of no return', abseiling through waterfalls, impressive water slides and the most amazing natural water park in Andalusia.

HIKING THROUGH THE RIO CHILLAR
This is an enchanting excursion, not to mention refreshing, particularly with children during the summer months. This is because the route is right along the course of the River Chillar, where we combine hiking with bathing in the ample pools of the river.
Our hike takes us through passages sculpted into the rocks, particularly known as Los Cahorros. In parts the passage is so narrow that we can touch both walls when you stretch out your arms. For sure your footwear will get wet.

This hike follows the route of the River Verde and the national park Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama. During the hike we'll have a great view of the mountain range of La Almijara and its impressive rise out of the water.
During the excursion, you'll be amazed at the variety of flora in the area, particularly the species that are indigenous to the area. And taking in the unique atmosphere, we'll spot a change in the vegetation as we move gradually from the mountains to the coastal zone.

MOUNTAIN & VALLEY ACTIVITIES
HIKING TO "Castellejos"
In this mountain range we'll discover the ruins of the Fort of los Castillejos, which means we will have reached an altitude of 932 metres above sea level at a distance of 7 kilometres from the coast, right on the edge of two provinces (Malaga and Granada) and a perfect vantage point from a strategic military perspective for viewing movement between La Herradura's magnificent bay and the interior pass which crosses the Almijara mountain range. This marked an overnight stop for the grandson of the Caliph of Damascus, Abderraman I, after disembarking at La Herradura in the year 755.

HIKING TO THE "Torre la Caleta"
The 'Atalaya' (watchtower) La Caleta was constructed at the start of the 16th Century and is located in an undulating area, which also means you enjoy fabulous views very close to cliff edges. We follow a path where there are numerous points from which you can take in the breathtaking coastline of this beautiful part of the natural park.

HIKING THROUGH TROPICAL ORCHARDS
The landscape in this part of the world is characterized by an extraordinary selection of tropical fruits. We visit plantations of mangoes, 'chirimoyos' (custard apples) and avocadoes, organized into terraces which are typical in this zone. You'll also see examples of other fruit trees such as bananas, 'nispero' (loquat), khaki fruit and citrus trees.

This is not a difficult hike, passing through an enchanting mountain passage that provides spectacular views over the cliffs of the natural park. After our efforts, we'll be able to dive into a lovely cove which is a real treasure also in terms of flora and fauna, fully protected as a marine zone. This experience alone is enough to make the excursion worthwhile. After the snorkeling part of this trip, you'll be able to spend some time relaxing on the beach, before making your way back.

SEA ACTIVITIES
KAYAKING TOUR WITH SNORKELLING
Kayaking at sea is one of the safest and most satisfying water sports that you can do either with family members or friends, appropriate for all age groups and skill levels.
On this excursion we combine kayaks with snorkels (diving with light equipment). Just about everyone can do this. We provide a basic initiation course for all beginners, so that they can enjoy this sport right from the start.

On the excursion we will take with us, in each of the kayaks, a submersible catalog with the descriptions of each of the species of flora and fauna, which we can see from the kayak or during the snorkeling session.

SCUBA DIVING
La Herradura is considered one of the best places in Andalusia to go scuba diving. If you want to try this out, but don't feel quite ready to go straight to certificated level, a 'Try dive' gives you the chance to sample diving and see if you like it. If you are already an experienced diver, then sign up for one of our daily scuba diving immersions.

BUGGY EXCURSIONS
Enjoy an exciting day, with spectacular views over La Herradura bay and beyond to the Costa Tropical and further along the Costa del Sol, so that you can take amazing photos at the fabulous stops in order to remind you of this incredible excursion.
You have the choice of 2 different routes, as your monitor guides you along your epic adventure. All the buggies are 2 seaters, 500CC, 4x4 with an automatic gearbox. These have been especially selected to cope with all types of terrain, to maximize your enjoyment of all the beauty and fun that characterize this excursion.
No experience is necessary, but the driver of each buggy does need to be at least 21 years old and hold a valid Type B driving licence.
